The camera is a bridge between one's cognitive self and the reality of the physical world. I believe the photographer has always sought to bring a physical existence to the images the eye transmits to the brain. As photographic technology grows so does the cameras ability to represent these images.
I use my camera as a direct link between my brain and the physical world. I feel this is merely a function of the natural melding of the technological and the biological. By collecting these images digitally and processing them via computer I achieve a sort of augmented cognition which I utilize to present the everyday as a direct representation of my cognitive processes.
The two bodies of work, "augmented cognition" and "ephemera" exist in tandem as representations of the physical world seen though different but simultaneous levels of enhanced thought.
